The Ellen Show or The Real Estate Show? I think it’s time for the Day time TV Queen to have a segment on her appreciation for real estate. Preferably giving details about why she purchased the same home twice in the last decade. Ellen and her wife Portia Di Rossi quietly and off the market sold their multi-million dollar home in the Hollywood Hills for $9.9 million. The property is 4,000 square feet sitting on 1.63 acres (71002.8 square feet). It has 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a swimming pool and a spa. Unfortunately there are no photos or details about what the interior looks like. Sources state that the home was rebuilt and redesigned to look like a 1950’s ranch. It sits on Nicholas Canyon and the views are breathtaking.
The best part is that Ellen has purchased this home twice, rented it out, and eventually sold it again. Talk about indecisive. Ellen and Portia first bought this property back in 2005 for about $6.5 million. The amount is just an estimate based on the prices and how well/bad the market was doing. Fast forward two years, they decide to sell the property alongside a smaller neighboring house for $10 million. In 2014, the couple repurchased the home for $8.75 million and gave it for rent to Nick Jonas. In 2016, she sells the home for $9.9 million.
I see a pattern going on…..Buys property, two years later sells the property, seven years later buys the property, and two years later sells the property AGAIN. I predict she will revisit the idea of purchasing the home 7 years from now.
