The world-famous Casa Casuarina villa that was previously owned by iconic fashion designer, Gianni Versace was listed for sale at $125,000,00.
Versace purchased the property in 1992 and invested more than $33,000,000 in redesigns and expansions. The home features 10 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a 54 foot 24k gold-lined pool and garden area with arched doorways, open air courtyard, statues, mosaics and frescos.
Versace was shot and killed just outside the front of the home in 1997 as he returned from a morning walk on Ocean Drive.
The home was built in the 30’s by architect, Alden Freeman. The design was inspired by what was the oldest existing house in the Western Hemisphere, the “Alcazar de Colon” located in the Dominican Republic and was the only known home of the family of explorer Christopher Columbus which is now a museum.
