Tucked away behind an unsuspecting door on Melrose Ave in Hollywood is one of the hottest new restaurants in LA, and for good reason. Wolf, the brainchild of Top Chef Marcel Vigneron, is a fancy foodies dream come true. This isn’t the informal “grub spot” that comes to mind when the word foodie is tossed around however, this is great food in a great setting.
Upon entering the Wolf it is abundantly clear that you are in for a treat. The interior is covered in warm wood with ample character and perfectly illuminated by soft designer lighting. The space itself is small but not cramped, and the size of the restaurant lends credibility to it’s exclusivity.
The food … oh the food… To put it simply, the food at Wolf leaves nothing to be desired – and also usually leaves your plate with nothing on it by the end of meal (read: I licked it clean). The perfect combination of classic culinary training and the molecular gastronomy for which Marcel is known, elevates the dining experience immensely.
Some of our favorites on the menu:
The Beets & Citrus, also a favorite of world renowned Celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsey who felt compelled to share the beautiful dish on his social media (as seen below):
The Hamachi Crudo, with nuoc cham, kumquat, radish, herbs, puffed rice, and ingenuity – this was a super favorite!

The White Miso Black Cod with watermelon radish, bean sprouts, dashi, and wasabi greens – deliberately light and playful to maintain the integrity of this lovely fish!
And for the wolves out there like myself, these last two are for you: The Vadouvan Lamb Rack with romanesco, lebneh, artichoke, olive, and jus, AND my personal favorite The Braised Beef Cheek with jerusalem artichoke, turmeric peppercorn sauce, and baby chicory – this was like the best braised short ribs on crack! Seen below in a photo by yours truly 😉
