JohnHart Real Estate Opens Office Number 15 in Magical Monrovia

As other brokerages continue to scale back in the face of industry changes, JohnHart Real Estate moves ahead in leaps and bounds. Perhaps that has never been more evident than in our latest acquisition. Finding opportunity in another brokerage’s loss, JohnHart’s newest addition to the family urged us to branch into the Monrovia housing market. Not that we needed much convincing. The pastoral splendor, profound sense of community, and colorful spirit of the foothill city were more than convincing.

The Art Deco Eccentricities of JohnHart’s Monrovia Location

We immediately fell in love with JohnHart’s Monrovia office when we first laid eyes on it. Even amidst the beauty of Old Town Monrovia, the exotic Art Deco architecture of the building at 517 S Myrtle Avenue cuts a striking figure. It’s been host to a myriad of businesses over the years: a dairy store in the 1920s, a cafe in the ‘30s, and a tailor in the ‘80s. More than one carpet store has taken residence beneath its terraced roof over the decades. Golf equipment, vintage clothing, and brand-new shoes have all been sold from its generously sized windows. But most recently, and for over a decade, it was the home of Douglas Elliman’s Monrovia branch.

JohnHart’s 4th New Office This Year

That all changed in June when JohnHart Real Estate acquired the former Douglas Elliman location to establish our Monrovia office. It’s a move that follows a year of aggressive growth for JohnHart. The Monrovia location marks our 15th location. But perhaps more indicative of our brokerage’s recent expansion, the Monrovia branch marks our 4th new office opened in 2024, following closely on the heels of Camarillo, Glendora, and our new Burbank office.

The Magic of Monrovia

For those unfamiliar with Monrovia, it’s a peaceful community positioned in the foothills at the periphery of the Angeles Forest. For that reason, it’s also one of the local communities in which Los Angeles-area wildlife such as mountain lions and black bears occasionally enter developed areas. Of course, this doesn’t alarm the average Monrovian. It just gives them a bit of added entertainment on their security cameras from time to time.

But it wasn’t black bears and mountain lions that drew JohnHart to opening an office in Monrovia. It was the unique spirit of the community. Monrovians tend to honor tradition and history while also maintaining open minds, a youthful spirit, and an eye on the future. If you’re near Monrovia, make sure to stop by and say hi to our resident Monrovia agents!

Continuing Expansion

With offices in Glendora, La Crescenta, and now Monrovia, JohnHart Real Estate illustrates its commitment to LA’s picture-perfect foothill communities. We look forward to helping people become part of these coveted communities through the bridge of homeownership. Meanwhile, we continue our expansion with new offices planned for the not-too-distant future. Think your neighborhood would benefit from a JohnHart office?
