People love swimming pools. At JohnHart, our agents often get requests for houses for sale in Las Vegas with pools. When the summer months hit, swimming pools in Las Vegas get plenty of use. Many area homeowners would claim the best pool in Las Vegas is the one in their own backyard. But the extravagance of the swimming pools built by the city’s lavish hotels and casinos can’t be touched. Today, we’ll take a look at a handful of the best Las Vegas pools… that aren’t on residential property. We’re a long way from that absolutely terrifying clown pool that used to haunt Circus Circus!
The Venetian and Palazzo Pool Decks: Aqua Italia
The Venetian and Palazzo resorts actually share a five-acre area dedicated to swimming. Naturally, at least one of the best swimming pools in Las Vegas has to be among them. While this isn’t technically a single pool, none of the entries on our list are. That’s just the “more is more” spirit of Las Vegas! Both resorts’ swimming pools have heavy Italian influence, though the Venetian’s skews more toward the Riviera. Between both resorts, you’ll find a small city of premium cabanas, a plethora of plunge pools, and four large pools. The Palazzo deck also features a tanning pool with just a foot of water to refresh you while you’re sunbathing. While the Palazzo and Venetian keep things mostly family-friendly, their Tao Beach section is a hotspot of the Vegas party scene.
The MGM Grand: The Best Lazy River in Town
The MGM Grand ups the ante with their over six-acre pool area featuring four well-sized swimming pools and three hot tubs. But what you don’t quite hear enough about MGM is that they have the best lazy river in town. And, yes, we count lazy rivers among the best Las Vegas pools! This one spans a quarter of a mile, taking approximately 20-minutes to make it around the loop. All along the river, you’ll find drinks and food service making this truly one of the laziest of lazy rivers. You’ll also find the usual cabanas, lounge chairs, and even volleyball. But that’s if you can pull yourself away from the lazy river. And that’s a pretty tall order.
Stadium Swim® at Circa Resort: Watch the Big Game on an Equally Big Screen
If you came to Las Vegas to party and swimming just happens to be a part of that mission, you’ll love Stadium Swim® at Circa Resort. Circa combines the experience of a Las Vegas pool and an amphitheater with Stadium Swim®. You’ll find a six-tiered pool area boasting six heated pools facing a 40-foot HD TV screen. Because the pools are heated, they can remain open well after the Las Vegas pool season has come to an end. One of the pools even keeps the heat at 104°F! Also, while many resorts close their pools at 8pm, Stadium Swim® keeps the party going until 11pm. With special access granted to guests of the D and Golden Gate hotels, Stadium Swim® maintains a distinctly adult vibe. But there’s no better place to be on gameday than camped in a daybed in front of that towering TV screen.
Gardens of the Gods Pool Oasis at Caesar’s Palace: A Divine Swimming Experience
Despite the stiff competition, few Las Vegas pools are as visually stunning as those in the Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis. Located at Caesar’s Palace, each of the seven pools in the oasis is named after a Roman deity. And the names actually hint at the pool’s defining feature. For example, the Neptune pool is the largest with its soothing blue marine look and rows of classical columns. Fortuna allows you to play black jack and other games of chance poolside. Venus is an adults-only pool that revels in opulence. You get the picture. No matter which pool you choose, you’ll find plenty of ornate statues and temple-supporting columns at which to marvel.
The Mandalay Bay Beach: Vegas’s Best Wave Pool
The Mandalay Bay Beach devotes 11 acres to its man made paradise. Easily offering some of the best pools in Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay created their own artificial beach complete with tons of soft white sand. While they offer a short lazy river, their real strength is in their 1.6-million gallon wave pool. They also offer adults-only pool areas if you’re not feeling the family fun vibes. If you’re a high roller, you can shell out for a beach bungalow with its own TV, fridge, and ceiling fan! It’s one of the most stylish ways to beat the heat during those sweltering Vegas summers!
The Tank Pool at the Golden Nugget: Yes, The Best Pool in Las Vegas Has Sharks
One of the great things about swimming pools when compared to the beach is the lack of sharks. So, it’s funny that to create arguably the best pool in Las Vegas, the Golden Nugget just added sharks. Maybe that’s an oversimplification, but ask pool goers why they chose the Tank Pool at the Golden Nugget. We don’t have to be on a lucky streak to guess with confidence that nine of 10 will answer “sharks”. Luckily for you (and even luckier for the sharks), they’re kept separate in their own 200,000-gallon saltwater aquarium. But that aquarium shares some glass with your pool. If this doesn’t get a thrill out of you, take a ride on their 30-foot water slide. It will rocket you right through the center of the shark tank. Along with its man made waterfalls, the Tank Pool is easily the most talked about of the famed Las Vegas pools. But if you need a break from sharkgazing, head up to the adults-only Hideout on the hotel’s roof. There you’ll be treated to breathtaking views from the infinity pool and drinks from the H20 bar.
