End Summer on the Right Foot (or Wheel) with Glendora’s Flashback Classic Car Show

To paraphrase the legendary Ronnie Hudson “Glendora knows how to party.” And if you don’t believe us, you need only keep your calendar open on Saturday, August 17 for the most hotly-anticipated annual summer event to cruise its way into the Glendora Village: the Flashback Classic Car Show; now in its 36th year! Touted as the “largest end-of-summer party in the East San Gabriel Valley”, it’s about a lot more than classic cars. As if we needed more. But what’s better than a summer block party? A summer block party that gives back to the community.

Considering that Los Angeles is the center of California car culture, you can expect a lot from Glendora’s Flashback Classic Car Show. Classic cars? Naturally. Classic trucks? You bet. Hotrods? Oh yeah. Classic motorcycles? They got ‘em. So, hit the block, ready to gawk. You’re guaranteed to get your money’s worth; especially considering that admission is totally free. That being said, you’ll also find plenty of opportunities to donate to worthy causes, so bring your cash. We’ll get to that in a minute.

Family Fun Beyond the Motor

While we recognize the appeal of some of California’s most impressive classic cars all in one place, there’s more to the Flashback Classic Car Show than classic cars. You can look forward to an evening packed with live entertainment courtesy of two bands that are no strangers to the Flashback stage. The Answer (a.k.a. The Answer to Classic Rock) and Silly Rabbit have practically become hallmarks of the Flashback experience. But since this car show is a family event, there will also be a specially designated “Kids Fun Zone” to keep children entertained.

Some of the best food in Glendora will also be on offer through the evening from a variety of vendors, promising to offer something for everyone. Adults can even expect a generous selection of wine and beer. And we mean generous. Anyone who’s attended the Glendora Wine Walk and Beer Festival knows what we’re talking about.

Glendora never needs much reason to throw a village block party, but there is an important purpose behind the Flashback Classic Car Show. It’s a major fundraiser for a slew of community programs and initiatives.

Through Flashback’s efforts, scholarships are granted to area high schools including:

  • Glendora High School
  • Charter Oak High School
  • Whitcomb High School
  • St. Lucy’s High School

But that’s just the beginning. Through your donations, Flashback also makes significant contributions to the following Glendora community organizations and events:

  • Partnership in Reading Program
  • Glendora High Boys and Girls Sports Programs
  • Holiday Baskets Program
  • EYE-DAS Foundation For the Blind
  • Meals On Wheels
  • Children’s Hospital
  • Sponsorship for Youth Programs (Kiwanis and Key Club)
  • Business Scholarships
  • Community Business Development
  • Easter Egg Hunt for the Youth

Therefore, though admission is totally free, the Flashback Classic Car Show asks you to give generously!

With a brand that says as much as JohnHart’s, Senior Copywriter Seth Styles never finds himself at a loss for words. Responsible for maintaining the voice of the company, he spends each day drafting marketing materials, blogs, bios, and agent resources that speak from the company’s collective mind and Hart… errr, heart.

Having spent over a decade in creative roles across a variety of industries, Seth brings with him vast experience in SEO practices, digital marketing, and all manner of professional writing with particular strength in blogging, content creation, and brand building. Gratitude, passion, and sincerity remain core tenets of his unwavering work ethic. The landscape of the industry changes daily, paralleling JohnHart’s efforts to {re}define real estate, but Seth works to maintain the company’s consistent message while offering both agents and clients a new echelon of service.

When not preserving the JohnHart essence in stirring copy, Seth puts his efforts into writing and illustrating an ongoing series entitled The Death of Romance. In addition, he adores spending quality time with his girlfriend and Romeo (his long-haired chihuahua mix), watching ‘70s and ‘80s horror movies, and reading (with a particular penchant for Victorian horror novels and authors Yukio Mishima and Bret Easton Ellis). He also occasionally records music as the vocalist and songwriter for his glam rock band, Peppermint Pumpkin.
